Assalamualiakum wr. wb.

My name is Henny Fauziyah, I’m sales and marketing manager for a foreign PMA Kalimantan Tour Destinations (KTD). It was developed by expat business partners, Ms. Lorna Dowson-Collins and Ms.Gaye Thavisin. Lorna previously worked on environmental and community development projects, and Gaye has experience in hotel operation and tourism in Central Kalimantan altogether over 14 years. Together, they put the pioneering idea, which is currently receiving a lot of interest from press and travel agents alike.

Maybe you have heard about our Jungle River Cruise because we are in news a lot.

However, let me introduce our beautiful traditional Kalimantan River barge, the Rahai’i Pangun, the first of its kind in Central Kalimantan. Converted to accomodate 10 guests in 5 double cabins in a comfort you would not expect in the Jungle, it offers the perfect combination of comfort and adventure.

The Rahai’i  has been operating since February 2008. Here are some comments from satisfied guests :

Cathy and Paul Knoop from Ohio

"This trip exceeded our expectations! wonderful food, great staff, fantastic boat with a good blend of cultural and natural experiences. We appreciate the way you are working with the local communities. This was a great trip to assist with learning the natural history of Kalimantan. The birds were great, especially the hornbills and colorful kingfishers.

Seeing the orangutans, proboscis monkeys and other primates was very special. It is a trip we would love to experience again- even better for 5 days!

In addition the beauty of the river, the night sky, the morning mist, quaint little villages were all special. also the caring attitude of the staff helps to make this a special experience.

It is important that the beauty and diversity of Borneo/Kalimantan be preserved for future generations. What better way to do this than to introduce people to these world class treasures."

Guests can enjoy the comfort of the large viewing decks as they are taken to the doorstep of beautiful jungle attractions without disturbing the natural environment whilst enjoying a relaxing pace of river travel.

The boat visits remote Dayak villages, passing natural jungle along the river banks. Guests can expect to glimpse orang-utans, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, king- fishers and the Brahmini Kite during the cruise, and sometime wake in the morning to the calls of gibbons.

Visitors are looked after with care, enjoying delicious meals cooked from local ingredients, and friendly and well informed staff.

Recent guests have said that it is the ’perfect break from the big city’ and that the food is a ’gastronomic delight’.

5 day cruises depart Palangkaraya on Monday, and weekend break cruises depart early Saturday morning (arrival on Garuda flight) for 2 full days and an early departure on Monday morning.

Details of itineraries are on our website at www.wowborneo.com at ’Ecocruises’ and our brochure can be downloaded. We are pleased to work together with your organization!

With best wishes,

Henny Fauziyah
